{"id":100,"date":"2018-01-11T20:18:56","date_gmt":"2018-01-11T20:18:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lrmta.com\/lrmta18\/?page_id=100"},"modified":"2025-05-19T21:55:55","modified_gmt":"2025-05-19T21:55:55","slug":"lethbridge-branch-of-armta-biennial-practise-a-thon","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/lrmta.com\/lrmta18\/lethbridge-branch-of-armta-biennial-practise-a-thon\/","title":{"rendered":"Practice-a-thon of the Lethbridge Branch of the Alberta Registered Music Teachers&#8217; Association"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-799 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/lrmta.com\/lrmta18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_1175-Copy-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lrmta.com\/lrmta18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_1175-Copy-1.jpg 600w, https:\/\/lrmta.com\/lrmta18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/IMG_1175-Copy-1-300x125.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Each year the Lethbridge Branch of the Alberta Registered Music Teachers&#8217; Association (ARMTA) awards over $1500 to those students studying with current members who have achieved the highest first-class honours marks in practical and theory examinations for the previous year.&nbsp;&nbsp;In addition we sponsor several annual awards for the <a href=\"http:\/\/lethmsf.org\/\">Lethbridge and District Music and Speech Arts Festival<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;Our Branch feels it is important to recognize the success and hard work of students&nbsp;and to encourage them to continue their studies.<\/p>\n<p>To raise money for our awards program, the Lethbridge Branch of the Alberta Registered Music Teachers\u2019 Association sponsors a Practice-a-thon every two years. &nbsp;Students set practise goals with their teachers, solicit pledges and then attempt to reach their practise time goals and win prizes. Prizes, including gift cards and concert tickets donated by our community sponsors, are awarded for the most hours practiced in 4 age categories as well as for the most money raised.<\/p>\n<p>100% of the money raised through the Practice-a-thon goes directly to the Registered Music Teachers\u2019 awards program and is given to future award winners.<\/p>\n<p>The Lethbridge Branch of the Alberta Registered Music Teachers&#8217;
